Samantha Harlow Releases her Song Cinema “By A Thread (pt.1)” Oct 15th! We had a couple questions.

Scot Sax: When you wrote these songs did you imagine yourself as a one woman Thelma and Louise Frankenstein or did that come later?

Samantha Harlow: It came as we began filming. I wrote most of these tunes piecemeal over the last two years. Sonically they came together, but I had no idea what shape they would take visually, until we decided to begin filming accompanying videos. After listening to the tracks, it became clear that they lent themselves to a loose version of the Frankenstein story, and it snowballed from there.

Scot: As a like-minded creative person myself, I have sought out different ways of presenting songs to the world in recent years. Not only to separate from the pack but to make it more interesting to me. Was this also something that crossed your mind? Is part of the fuel for this venture?

Samantha: I want to focus more on content and less on live performance at this stage of my life, so creating things that will attract followers was at the top of mind. More importantly though, I love movies, and have wanted to hear my music paired with tv/movies that I would want to watch. It just made sense that rather than wait and wish for someone to pick my songs, that I would just create the vehicle for them to travel in.
